Indian Head Massage
Indian head massage is an old art practised for many years in India. It is an enjoyable and relaxing treatment. The energy centres, head, neck, shoulders and back are areas where tension accumulates. The soft tissue is manipulated by the therapist. They are gently , firmly and rhythmically massaged, releasing the tensions.
The use of oil is optional. Indian head massage has many benefits such as increased joint movement, relieving sinus congestion, insomnia, relieving eye strain, headaches, improving concentration, boosting the immune system and also creating a general well being.
Indian head massage could be beneficial but some conditions such as heart disorders, uncontrolled blood pressure problems, epilepsy, cancer, diabetes, thrombosis, infectious diseases and involuntary spasm conditions, it could be harmful. You need to inform your therapist if you have any of the following, varicose veins, recent scar tissue, postural deformity, brittle bones, dislocated joints whiplash injury, moles, bruises, cuts, eczema or broken bones.
In the event of some conditions a letter from your GP may be required.
Treatment on the day may be declined due to the consumption of a large meal, alcohol, during the 1st trimester of pregnancy, sunburn, presence of infection or virus, you should wait at least 6 month post surgery unless it is recommended by your doctor.
